Bidding Update

To All Employees:

There needs to be clarification regarding Postings CL606 & CL607. As you are aware, there are a number of employees who have been identified as a junior, impacted employee who is considered excess to the needs of the installation and have been notified that they are subject to being excessed. A number of these employees currently occupy jobs which will still need to be filled after the excessing occurs.

The purpose of Postings CL606 & CL607 is to identify any senior non-impacted employee who may be interested in having the job vacated by an impacted employee in the event that the junior employee is excessed. However, if the junior impacted employee is not excessed, the junior employee will stay in their job, even if a senior non-impacted employee has selected the job during the pre-bid process. The senior non-impacted employee will remain in the job they currently hold.

In an attempt to begin whatever training may be necessary to prepare for the period after the excessing, management is posting the occupied jobs now, in the event they become vacant as a result of excessing. However, I repeat, if the junior impacted employee is not excessed, the senior non-impacted employee will not be placed into the job. The junior employee, who was previously facing excessing but ultimately won't be excessed, will not lose their job to the senior employee.

Sincerely,
Harmon P. Elliott Jr.,
